Applause ignites the arena, Sending me on my way To the vine. Chanting, "Prima Voi, la fine scorre Like black wine." I'm blind. The chasm yawns as I swim With a dimming sun To the wire. Humming a hymn While the Deaf and Dumb See dancing green and fire; Mute liar. The vine is ablaze with light When I begin the Dance. Flaming hornets sting the nose As smoke consumes the night. Drenched in amber, the crowd chants, "Before you, the end flows And goes." The dimming sun burns away And I begin to sink through black. Chants and hymns of yesterday Fade to silent ink. As eternity and night relay My memories to brink Death
